AE Interests: Steel + reinforced concrete. Retractable roof and seating. Roof is made of a teflon membrane that allows 25% light permeability, making artificial light unnecessary during the day.

AE Interests: The museum is part of a US$27 billion project on Saadiyat Island which will also include a Guggenheim museum.
183m floating dome-roof filters sunlight: steel tubular trusses support the roof shape, screening is made of stainless steel and aluminum layers. See article below.
