Location: Incheon Metropolitan City, Republic of South Korea
Architect: John Portman & Associates, Inc.
Structural Engineer: Thornton Tomasetti
Estimated date of completion: 2014
Cost: $11 billion

AE Interests: Two interconnected trapezoidal sections after a split at the 44th floor. Wind Tunnel Analysis in consideration of wind and seismic loads while maintaining original design vision. The two halves of the tower are tied together by three pedestrian bridges comprised of “steel truss outriggers”(Thornton Tomasetti website).

AE Interests: Fresh air and light circulates via open atrium and a ventilation shaft; oval, vaulted walls; prefabricated glass fiber-reinforced concrete (GFRC) used for every surface: floors, walls, ceilings and columns; concrete skin incorporates a water-cooling system (Water pipes lining the outer shell)
